Rome, 11 May (LaPresse) – Informed sources have revealed to the pan-Arab newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat that some Arab countries have proposed to US President Donald Trump that he present an initiative to end the war in Gaza during his visit to the region this week, and impose it on both the Israeli and Palestinian sides. The sources expressed optimism that the United States would accept these proposals, in light of signs that the American president is dissatisfied with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's positions. These include his visit to the region without stopping in Israel, the ceasefire agreement with the Houthis that did not include Israel, the dialogue with Iran based on American rather than Israeli considerations, and the dialogue with Saudi Arabia based on the common interests of the two countries without Israel's participation.
