Vatican City (Vatican), May 9 (LaPresse) – The Missa Pro Ecclesia celebrated by the Roman Pontiff is now underway in the Sistine Chapel, Vatican. This is Pope Leo XIV’s first Mass. Pope Leo XIV entered the Sistine Chapel not wearing the traditional red shoes, but a pair of black shoes and the pastoral cross originally made for Benedict XVI and later also used by Pope Francis. “You have entrusted me with a treasure,” the Pope said during his homily, which he delivered in English. He added, “May the Church be an ark of salvation and a beacon for the world.”
