Rome, May 7 (LaPresse) – “It is important that the United States remains involved in this peace process” concerning the war in Ukraine, said German Chancellor Friederich Merz during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. “Even in providing future security guarantees for Ukraine, it’s vital that the Americans stay on board,” Merz added, announcing he will visit Ukraine “in the coming weeks.” “We will do everything we can to support the European Union in ensuring a permanent ceasefire beyond the upcoming weekend, and in ultimately reaching a peace agreement with Russia,” stated the German Chancellor.
