Islamabad, May 7th (LaPresse) – Pakistan's Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif, warned that if tensions continue to escalate, there would be a real risk of nuclear war. In response to a question, Asif stated, according to Geo News, that Pakistan has faced such threats in the past and that the region could once again be on the brink of a strategic deadlock. "India is going through a serious internal crisis," Asif observed, adding that New Delhi's aggression poses a serious threat to regional peace and security. The Pakistani minister emphasized that the risk of nuclear conflict is real and cannot be ignored. He also mentioned that a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) could be convened at any time and that the national security process is ongoing.
