Milan, May 1 (LaPresse) – U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the nomination of Mike Waltz as the next United States Ambassador to the United Nations. Concurrently, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will assume the role of interim National Security Adviser, replacing Waltz. This announcement follows reports that Waltz would depart from his position as National Security Adviser after inadvertently adding journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal chat used for discussing sensitive military plans against the Houthis in Yemen. Trump praised Waltz's service, stating: "From his time in uniform on the battlefield, in Congress, and as my National Security Adviser, Mike Waltz has worked hard to put our Nation's interests first. I know he will do the same in his new role." Trump also expressed confidence in Rubio's leadership, noting that he will continue to serve as Secretary of State while temporarily overseeing national security affairs.
