Milan, 29 April (LaPresse) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has denied that yesterday's blackout was caused by a lack of nuclear power and has announced that he will request an independent report from Brussels. ‘If we had been more dependent on nuclear power, the recovery would not have been as rapid as we are experiencing,’ Sanchez said, adding that nuclear power plants were “in fact a problem” because they were “shut down” and had to be supplied with a lot of energy to keep their “cores” active for safety reasons. Those who claim that the blackout was caused by a lack of nuclear energy ‘are either lying or demonstrating ignorance,’ the prime minister said.
