Milan, 29 April (LaPresse) – Spanish power grid operator Red Electrica (REE) has ruled out that the blackout that left Spain, Portugal and parts of southern France in the dark yesterday was caused by a computer attack. El Pais reports. ‘This morning we were able to conclude that there was no intrusion into the electricity network control systems that could have caused the incident,’ a representative of REE told a press conference. ‘These are not definitive conclusions,’ he added, ’we have to determine precisely the causes and the course of events. What we have ascertained before the accident is that the system was stable and in a safe condition.’
