Washington, 25 Apr (LaPresse) – With Russia "we had very good talks and we are very close to an agreement. And I don't think anybody else could have reached that agreement." This was stated by the US president, Donald Trump, during an interview with Time. As for Volodymyr Zelensky, “he's president now and I think we will find an agreement,” he said. A peace deal on Ukraine with Vladimir Putin “is possible” while if someone else becomes president “no chance”. "I think Putin would prefer to do things differently. I think he would prefer to go for everything. And I think, thanks to me, I'm the only one who can negotiate this,' the US president added. On the Iranian issue, however, Trump was categorical, responding with a flat “no” to a question about the possibility that the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, might drag the US into a war against Tehran. ‘It could also go to war, but we will not get involved,’ he added. On the other hand, should the US and Iran fail to reach an agreement on the nuclear issue, “I will lead the group”.
