Ukraine, Zelensky: ‘More pressure on Russia is needed’

Milan, 24 April (LaPresse) – Ukraine does not see “strong pressure on Russia at this time” or new sanctions against Moscow, despite its reluctance to move forward with negotiations. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at a press conference in South Africa. ‘We believe that with more pressure on the Russian Federation, we will be able to bring our positions closer together,’ he added, reiterating that further compromises could be discussed once a ceasefire has been agreed. Zelensky stressed that, after more than three years of war of aggression with thousands of deaths, the willingness to sit down at the negotiating table with the aggressor is already a compromise on Kiev's part.
