Beijing, April 24 (LaPresse) – During a meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto, who is visiting Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that China is willing to collaborate with other countries to "address various challenges through unity and cooperation, safeguard legitimate rights and interests, respect the rules of international trade, and maintain fairness and justice at the international level." Furthermore, Xi emphasized that "there are no winners in tariff and trade wars." For his part, Ruto stated that trade wars "undermine the existing international rules and order and that Kenya values China's role as a stabilizer in the current situation of instability, as well as China's efforts to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the countries of the Global South."
