Rome, 23 Apr (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump has never set a deadline for a ceasefire in Ukraine and Russia also believes such a move would be inappropriate. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in an interview with French magazine Le Point, as reported by Tass . ‘Trump has never given dates. And we do not believe that setting a deadline would be appropriate. Because President Putin supports the ceasefire,’ Peskov said. Responding to a question about a possible meeting between Putin and his US counterpart, he noted that both ‘want to achieve results’. The Russian leader's spokesman stressed that negotiations on the restoration of Russian-American relations and the resolution of the situation in Ukraine are ‘two completely different issues’. ‘But resolving the conflict with Ukraine without restoring normal relations between Washington and Moscow is impossible,’ Peskov added.
