Turin, April 19 (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced an Easter ceasefire in the conflict in Ukraine. "President Vladimir Putin has declared an Easter truce. During a meeting at the Kremlin, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief listened to a report from the Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, on the situation along the front line and announced that the Russian side will halt all military actions from 6 p.m. (5 p.m. Italian time) on April 19 until midnight on April 21 (11 p.m. Italian time)," reported the Kremlin on its Telegram channel. "Based on humanitarian considerations, starting from 6 p.m. today until midnight on Monday, the Russian side proclaims an Easter truce. I order that all military actions be halted during this period," said Putin. "We expect the Ukrainian side to follow our example.
