Rome, 18 April (LaPresse) – Iran's foreign minister has confirmed that the second round of indirect talks with the United States on Tehran's nuclear programme will take place this Saturday in Rome, and that he himself will participate. The news was reported by the Irna news agency. Abbas Araghchi specified that ‘Rome is the venue for the negotiations’ but that the ‘Omani government’ will act as mediator. ‘The task of mediating, intervening and establishing indirect communication continues to be the responsibility of the Omani Foreign Minister and the government of that country,’ said the head of Iranian diplomacy, who then stated: ‘I will go to Rome on Saturday and we will begin the second round of indirect talks’.
