London (UK), Apr 16 (LaPresse/AP) – ‘They have protected the rights of women and girls across the UK’. J.K. Rowling, the author of ‘Harry Potter’, thus commented on X on the UK Supreme Court ruling that for the purposes of UK equal opportunities law the definition of ‘woman’ will only cover people born biologically female. Rowling added that she is ‘very proud’ of the ‘extraordinary and tenacious’ activists of For Women Scotland (FWS) who have pursued the cause in a court battle that has lasted several years.
