Boston (Massachusetts, USA), April 15 (LaPresse) – The United States federal government has announced that it has frozen more than $2.2 billion in grants and $60 million in contracts to Harvard University after the institution rejected the Trump administration’s demands for broad reforms to the university’s governance and leadership, as well as changes to its admissions policies. The administration had also requested, in a letter sent to the university on Friday, a review of campus diversity and an end to the recognition of certain student clubs. Yesterday, Harvard President Alan Garber stated that the university would not yield to the government’s demands. Just a few hours later, the government froze billions of dollars in federal grant funding.
