Milan, April 14 (LaPresse) – Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, speaking with journalists in Japan, confirmed that Rome will host the next round of nuclear talks between Iran and the US, following the first round held on Saturday in Oman. "We received a request from the interested parties and from Oman, which is acting as a mediator, and we responded positively. We are ready to host, as always, meetings that could lead to positive results, in this case regarding the nuclear issue. Rome confirms its role as a capital of peace and mediation; this is not the first time such talks have taken place in our country," said Tajani. "We are willing to do whatever is necessary and will continue to support all negotiations that can help resolve the nuclear issue and also build peace," the Foreign Minister continued. When asked about the level of the talks, Tajani stated, "The government of Oman is organizing it and will play the role of mediator. They will decide, in consultation with the Iranians and Americans, who will be the key figures. I suppose there will be ministers, Kellogg, but it is up to them, we are the host country, and we are pleased to facilitate dialogue." When asked whether Italians will also be present at the negotiation table, Tajani responded, "The negotiations are between the Iranians and the Americans."
