USA-Russia, Lavrov: "Prisoner exchange strengthens trust"

Moscow, April 11 (LaPresse) – The prisoner exchange between Moscow and Washington helps to strengthen trust, but it will take a long time to fully restore it. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a press conference on his visit to Kazakhstan. The Russian news agency Ria Novosti reported his comments. "The idea of the exchange came from both sides simultaneously, and I am sure that any humanitarian gesture, even when it involves two people being reunited with their families, is always positive," Lavrov said. "This helps strengthen the trust that is so necessary, but it will take a long time to fully restore it," he added.
