Brussels, April 11 (LaPresse) – "The most urgent issue we will discuss concerns Trump’s tariffs and their macroeconomic implications, as well as the EU’s response to minimize the negative economic impact. In any case, from the EU side, we see the negative macroeconomic effect on both the European and U.S. economies, with the negative effects on the U.S. economy actually being greater than on the EU, as the U.S. is applying the tariffs broadly." This was stated by the European Commissioner for Economy, Valdis Dombrovskis, upon his arrival at the inclusive Eurogroup meeting in Warsaw. "From the EU side, we are ready to cooperate and find constructive, mutually acceptable solutions. That’s why we have also suspended our first set of tariffs for 90 days. But of course, we are also sending the message that if we don’t see any movement from the U.S. and their willingness to abandon this type of tariff policy, we will help defend our economy. We will help defend our businesses and will also take compensatory measures," added Dombrovskis.
