Milan, 1 Apr. (LaPresse) – With regard to Ukraine, ‘we take the models and solutions proposed by the Americans very seriously, but we cannot accept all of this as it is’. This was stated by the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergey Ryabkov, in an interview with the Russian magazine ‘International Affairs’, as reported by the Russian press agencies. ‘We have not heard a signal from Trump to Kiev to end the war. All that exists today is an attempt to find some kind of scheme that would allow us to achieve a ceasefire initially, as the Americans imagine it. And then move on to other models and schemes, in which, as far as we can judge, there is no place for our main demand today, which is the resolution of the problems associated with the root causes of this conflict. This aspect is completely absent and must be overcome,’ Ryabkov said. “We certainly have a series of priorities and approaches to this issue that have been deeply and carefully thought out, and which are being developed and were also developed by our negotiating team during the recent negotiations with the Americans in Riyadh,” he added.
