Rome, Apr 1 (LaPresse) – The death toll following the strong earthquake that struck Myanmar has risen to 2,719 and is expected to exceed 3,000. This was stated by the ruling military junta cited by international media. The head of Myanmar's military junta, General Min Aung Hlaing, speaking at a forum in the capital Naypyitaw said that 2,719 people had been found dead and that there were currently 4,521 injured and 441 missing. Since many areas affected by Friday's earthquake have not yet been reached by rescue teams, these numbers are expected to rise further.
