Rome, 1 Apr. (LaPresse) – According to an Elabe survey for Bfmtv, after the conviction of Marine Le Pen, the majority of French people (42%) say they are satisfied with the court's decision, compared to 29% who say they are dissatisfied and 29% who say they are indifferent. More than one in two French people (57%) believe it was a normal judicial decision, given the facts attributed to Marine Le Pen. On the contrary, 42% of those interviewed believe that this sentence was influenced by the desire to prevent her from standing in the next presidential elections in 2027. Two out of three French people (68%) also believe that the ‘provisional execution’ rule is fair. This is the rule that would make Le Pen ineligible to stand for election for 5 years, in the event of a conviction for the misappropriation of public funds, as in the case of the former leader of the National Rally (Rassemblement National, RN).
