Canada, media: Carney will call for new elections

Milan, March 20 (LaPresse) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will ask the Governor General on Sunday to dissolve Parliament and call new elections. This was reported by Radio-Canada, according to which the election campaign will begin just a week after Carney's swearing-in as Prime Minister and the appointment of his cabinet. The campaign is expected to last between 36 and 50 days. The election date has yet to be confirmed, but voters are expected to go to the polls on April 28 or May 5.
