Milan, March 17 (LaPresse) – Ukrainian soldiers engaged in the fighting in the Russian region of Kursk have described "horror movie-like" scenes during their retreat from the front lines. The British broadcaster BBC received detailed accounts from Ukrainian troops, who spoke of a "catastrophic" retreat in the face of heavy fire from the Russian army, with continuous attacks by swarms of drones. Ukrainian restrictions on information from the front have made it difficult for the media to obtain a full picture of the situation, but the BBC was able to gather some testimonies.
One soldier described "panic and the collapse of the front": "Columns of troops and equipment are trying to leave. Some of them are being burned by Russian drones on the road. It’s impossible to leave during the day."
"Enemy forces have managed to destroy dozens of equipment units," said another soldier, highlighting that the wreckage "created congestion on the supply routes."
