Turin, 15th March (LaPresse) – The Trump administration is considering adding the citizens of 43 countries to the list of those banned from travelling to the United States. This travel ban would be more extensive than the restrictions imposed during the president's first term, according to the New York Times, quoting officials. The draft proposal divides countries into three categories: a ‘red’ list, whose citizens would be completely excluded from entry; an ‘orange’ list, which would impose selective restrictions, particularly on non-commercial travellers; and a ‘yellow’ list of countries that are given a 60-day deadline to resolve security deficiencies or risk being placed on a more restrictive list. According to the officials, the ‘red list’ includes Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen. The ‘orange list’ includes Belarus, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan and Turkmenistan. The ‘yellow list’ includes Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Sao Tome and Principe, Vanuatu and Zimbabwe.
