Rome, 8 Mar (LaPresse) – Should Israel decide that the hostage talks with Hamas were unsuccessful or if it deemed the Palestinian organisation's demands too high then it would plan a large-scale military escalation campaign against Hamas. The Wall Street Journal reports this. The report points to the possibility of cutting off electricity and water supplies as the next step, after Israel declared that it would not allow new aid into the Gaza Strip. Citing an Israeli security analyst briefed on the plan, the WSJ states that Israel could then use air strikes and raids. The analyst states that the next step could be to drive the Palestinians out of the northern Gaza Strip again.
