Washington (USA), March 1 (LaPresse) – "I owe no apologies to Donald Trump." This is what Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an interview with Fox News, following his heated clash at the White House with the U.S. president. "I thank him for the invitation and respect him. I would like Trump to be more on our side and not in the middle, because the war started when Putin attacked us," added the Ukrainian leader, emphasizing that "certain conversations should not be held in front of the media, with all due respect for democracy and the free press."
"A truce without security guarantees from the United States is a very delicate issue for my people. No one wants the war to end more than we do. Without U.S. aid, it will be difficult for Ukraine to repel Russia. We do not want to lose the alliance with the U.S.," Zelensky stressed.
Finally, regarding calls for his resignation by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, the Kyiv leader clarified: "Only Ukrainians can decide whether I should step down."
