Istanbul (Turkey), March 1 (LaPresse) – The Kurdish militia PKK has announced that it will comply with the call of its leader Abdullah Öcalan, who recently asked for the weapons to be laid down and the party to be dissolved. "In order to pave the way for the implementation of Leader Apo's call for peace and a democratic society, we declare a ceasefire starting today," stated the PKK executive committee. Öcalan has been in prison since 1999 on Imrali Island.
