Germany, two suspects arrested for the shooting in Bielefeld

Frankfurt (Germany), 26 Feb. (LaPresse) – Several people were injured following a shooting outside the regional court in Bielefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia. Four people are currently hospitalized, the police reported in the evening. Two suspects were arrested at the scene, but their involvement in the crime has not yet been clarified. The police also announced that investigators found a possible weapon used in the crime. The shooting appears to be connected to a murder trial. Since 9 a.m. this morning, the trial for the murder of boxer Besar Nimani, which occurred in March 2024, has been ongoing in the historic center of Bielefeld. The trial began at the end of January. According to the indictment, the defendant and the fugitive suspect allegedly shot the former middleweight boxer a total of 16 times in front of a hair salon in the center of Bielefeld on March 9, 2024.
