Seoul (South Korea), 25 Feb (LaPresse/AP) – Elevated parts of a highway under construction collapsed in South Korea, killing four workers and injuring six others. This was reported by the national fire brigade agency. Ten people were working at the construction site near the town of Cheonan, about 90 kilometres south of Seoul. They fell when the structure collapsed and were trapped in the rubble. One was found dead in the rubble. Eight injured workers were transported to hospital, but two of them were later pronounced dead. The tenth worker, who had been missing for hours, was finally found lifeless. The agency reported that five of the injured remain in a serious condition. The cause of the collapse was not immediately established. Acting President Choi Sang-mok urged the authorities to mobilise all available personnel and equipment to rescue the workers. About 50 fire engines, three helicopters and about 150 rescue workers are deployed in the rescue operation.
