We must say this clearly," said outgoing Chancellor Olaf Scholz, commenting on the results of the federal elections, where the SPD is projected to receive 16% according to the exit polls. "Now we must move forward together," said Scholz, who then congratulated CDU leader Friedrich Merz, stating that he "has received the mandate to govern."
