Frankfurt (Germany), February 21 (LaPresse) – The 18-year-old arrested yesterday by Brandenburg police is Chechen and was preparing an attack on the Israeli embassy in Berlin, according to Bild. The newspaper adds that the young man was arrested at Berlin airport while trying to leave the country. The arrested person is Ahkmad I., a Chechen who lived in Potsdam, Bild further reports. According to information, the tip-off came from a foreign intelligence service. It is said that the suspect did not act alone and intended to leave Berlin for Istanbul. Previously, according to Welt, a foreign intelligence service reported that on January 18, two people left Germany for Somalia. Reportedly, these men wanted to join a jihadist group affiliated with the ISIS terrorist militia. The men are said to be a Russian immigrant in Germany and a German-born man of Russian origin. Apparently, they are still in Somalia, presumably to fight alongside ISIS terrorists. The Chechen arrested on Thursday is believed to be the third member of the group.
