Seoul (South Korea), 20 Feb. (LaPresse/AP) – South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol appeared in court for the hearing of the criminal trial in which he is accused of having orchestrated a rebellion when he imposed martial law. The preliminary hearing involved the discussion of witnesses, proposed evidence and other preparations for the criminal trial. The court, which has scheduled another preliminary hearing in March, is also examining the request of Yoon's lawyers to annul his arrest and release him. The court is expected to make a decision this evening. Yoon then crossed the capital to go to the Constitutional Court, which is about to decide whether to formally remove him from office after the National Assembly's impeachment. Yoon will face the main witnesses to the impeachment, including Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.
