Milan, 20 Feb. (LaPresse) – ‘Agony. Pain. There are no words. Our hearts – the hearts of an entire nation – are in tatters’. This is what Israeli President Isaac Herzog wrote on social media after Hamas handed over the bodies of 4 hostages who died in the Gaza Strip. ‘On behalf of the State of Israel, I bow my head and ask for forgiveness’, Herzog added, ‘forgiveness for not having protected you on that terrible day. Forgiveness for not having brought you back home safely’.
