Washington (USA), 30 Jan (LaPresse) – The number of control tower personnel at Washington's Ronald Reagan National Airport on Wednesday ‘was not normal for that time of day and the volume of traffic’. This is according to a preliminary internal Federal Aviation Administration report on yesterday's air collision, seen by several US media outlets, including The New York Times and The Associated Press. The controller who was handling helicopters in the vicinity of the airport Wednesday night was also giving instructions to planes that were landing and departing from its runways. Such tasks are usually assigned to two controllers, rather than one.
