Brussels, Jan. 27 (LaPresse) – ‘Today, during the meeting of the EU Council of Foreign Ministers, our vote will be decided by whether or not the European Commission provides guarantees to intervene in the future in any case where the energy security of EU member states is threatened from outside the Union.’ So writes in a post on Facebook, the Hungarian Foreign Minister, Péter Szijjártó, who is attending the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels today. 2After three years it is clear, it should be: the sanctions against Russia have failed miserably. These measures have caused enormous damage to Europe, including our country: the Hungarian economy has suffered EUR 19 billion, or about 7500 billion Hungarian forints. Parallel to this, Ukraine is constantly taking steps that threaten Hungarian (and Central European) energy security. This cannot continue. Just as it must end, the fact that the European Commission does not represent the interests of the EU member states, but the candidate member Ukraine'.
