Brussels, 16 Jan (LaPresse) – The European Commission today announced a new aid package for Gaza worth €120 million. This brings total EU humanitarian assistance to Gaza to more than 450 million euros from 2023 and is in addition to the EU airlift flights that have delivered more than 3,800 tonnes of aid. This was reported by European Commission spokeswoman Eva Hrncirova in the daily press briefing. ‘The ceasefire and hostage release agreement offers desperately needed hope for the region. But the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains serious. In 2025, Europe will direct EUR 120 million in aid, together with tons of aid in kind, to continue supporting the Palestinians,' writes President Ursula von der Leyen in X.
