Rome, 7 January (LaPresse) – With the closing of a $20 billion funding round for xAI, Elon Musk, CEO of xAI, Neuralink, Tesla and SpaceX, made enthusiastic statements about the future of artificial intelligence and robotics in a podcast published on the Moonshots channel with Peter Diamandis. Musk said that ‘we have entered the technological singularity,’ describing it as the irreversible moment when AI accelerates exponentially, surpassing human intelligence and leading to major advances that will transform humanity into an era of extraordinary abundance. ‘The singularity is a point of no return, similar to an event horizon,’ Musk explained, pointing out that AI is already growing “exponentially” thanks to improvements in algorithms, chips and data. At the heart of his vision for the future of widely applied AI is Optimus, Tesla's humanoid robot: ‘Optimus will be the most important product ever.’ Musk announced that the Gen 3 version will be unveiled in early 2026, with mass production starting in April and targets of millions of units per year. The prospects for Neuralink are no less exciting: in 2026, high-volume production of brain implants will begin, with almost entirely automated surgical procedures. Musk revealed that the Blindsight project, aimed at restoring sight to the blind, even those blind since birth, will see its first trials on human patients. ‘It will be an incredible future of abundance for everyone,’ Musk concluded, painting a picture of an era in which AI and robotics, guided by principles of truth and curiosity, will create unprecedented prosperity.
