Milan, 12 June (LaPresse) – Lando Norris in his McLaren set the fastest time in the second free practice session of the Formula 1 Catalan Grand Prix at the Montmelò circuit in Barcelona. The British driver, the reigning World Champion, clocked a time of 1:15.426, finishing just 0.009 seconds ahead of his compatriot George Russell in a Mercedes. Third place went to Australian Oscar Piastri in the other McLaren, 0.057 seconds behind. Fourth was Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari, 0.373 seconds behind, with World Championship leader Kimi Antonelli, in the Mercedes, just behind in fifth place, 0.589 seconds adrift. Sixth was Max Verstappen in the Red Bull, 0.895 seconds behind, whilst Lewis Hamilton in the other Ferrari was ninth, 1.2 seconds adrift. Qualifying is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at 4pm.
