The 20-year-old Czech produced a flawless performance: in the third set, despite trailing by two breaks, he managed to fight back against the Brazilian and force a tie-break, where he sealed the match after squandering six match points in the twelfth game. Mensik will return to the court on Friday to face Germany’s Alex Zverev.
