Turin, May 10 (LaPresse) – The relegation battle between Fiorentina and Genoa at the ‘Franchi’ ended in a scoreless draw, in a match counting toward the 36th round of Serie A. With this draw, the Viola have mathematically secured their place in the league, remaining seven points clear of the relegation zone. There was little excitement in the first half, except for a header by Ostigard saved by De Gea in the 39th minute. The match picked up in the second half, with De Gea making saves against Ekuban and, shortly after, against Ostigard. In the closing minutes, the Viola had a chance with Piccoli blocked by Ostigard, then Parisi was denied by Gosens. The score, however, remained 0-0: Genoa moved to 41 points, while Fiorentina climbed to 38.
