Milan, 24 April (LaPresse) – Three NBA basketball playoff games were played last night. The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Denver Nuggets 113–96 and now lead the series 2–1. Ayo Dosunmu was the standout performer for the home side, scoring 25 points and adding 9 assists. The Nuggets’ usual double-double from Nikola Jokic, who scored 27 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, proved insufficient. The Toronto Raptors then beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 126-104 at home, taking a 2-1 lead in the series. The Canadians had five players in double figures and soared thanks to Scottie Barnes’ 33 points and 11 assists and R.J. Barrett’s 33 points in 39 minutes. James Harden’s 18 points were not enough for the Cavs. In the third game played overnight, the Atlanta Hawks narrowly beat the New York Knicks 109-108 to take a 2-1 lead in the series. The home side pulled away thanks to Jalen Johnson’s double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds. The Big Apple side couldn’t capitalise on OG Anunoby’s 29 points or Karl-Anthony Towns’ standout performance, who scored 21 points and grabbed 17 rebounds.
