Internazionali: Alcaraz and Sinner top men’s entry list, five Italians set to compete

Rome, 6 April (LaPresse) – The men’s singles entry list for the 83rd edition of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia has been published. Pending the wild cards and the qualifiers, five Italians are currently guaranteed a place in the main draw: Jannik Sinner (ATP No. 2), Lorenzo Musetti (5), Flavio Cobolli (16), Luciano Darderi (21) and Lorenzo Sonego (66). The last player to be directly admitted is Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff (78); Mattia Bellucci (79) is currently the first of those excluded. Leading the entry list is world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, the defending champion, who boasts the third-best win percentage on clay in the ATP Tour, behind only two legends: Björn Borg and Rafa Nadal. Also in the line-up will be Novak Djokovic, the active player with the most titles at the Foro Italico (six: 2008, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2020, 2022), who celebrated his 1,000th career victory on the major circuit in Rome; and Alexander Zverev, the only other active player to have won the Internazionali BNL d’Italia at least twice in the men’s singles (2017, 2024). All current Top 10 players in the ATP rankings will be present.
