Turin, 29 Mar. (LaPresse) – A scare for Mircea Lucescu. The current Romania manager has been admitted to Bucharest University Hospital after losing consciousness during today’s technical meeting ahead of the friendly match against Slovakia. The 80-year-old manager “is undergoing diagnostic tests and the necessary treatment to stabilise his heart rate,” the Romanian Football Federation said in a statement. “The national team will leave for Bratislava this evening without Lucescu, who will remain in hospital for further tests and specialist treatment. For the match against Slovakia, the national team will be led by first-team assistant coach Ionel Gane.” Last Thursday, Romania lost the World Cup play-off semi-final against Turkey.
