Suzuka (Japan), Mar 29 (LaPresse) – "I kept the podium, and it’s a good result. This time, I had to work hard to defend myself from George Russell. I must say, however, that I had a bit of bad luck when the Safety Car came out, at that point I lost a few positions and had to change my racing strategy." This is what Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, who finished third in the Japanese GP, said. "From that moment on, I knew I had to chase down Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli. At that point, I didn’t get discouraged and told myself I had to keep pushing and, at the same time, manage the tires in the best way possible," he added. "I wanted to reach the final laps in optimal conditions. After I managed to pass George Russell, I knew that in the final laps he would do everything to take the position back. In the direct battle, I think I defended myself well, and the duel was definitely fun. It allowed me to keep the podium," he concluded.
