Rome, 22 March (LaPresse) – Lazio beat Bologna 2-0 and overtake the Emiliani in the table, thereby reigniting their hopes of securing at least a place in next season’s Europa Conference League. The Rossoblù appear to be paying the price for their overconfidence at the Olimpico and fail to impose themselves as they had done in the Europa League match against Roma. But in the 51st minute, they still manage to create a chance to take the lead thanks to a penalty won by Castro, who was brought down by Motta. Orsolini stepped up to take the spot-kick but was hypnotised by the Biancocelesti goalkeeper. The home side took the blow and Lazio capitalised. In the 72nd minute, Taylor scored the opening goal, which also shifted the momentum of the match. Lazio looked to double their lead and succeeded, again through Taylor in the 82nd minute. Sarri’s men (who have now secured a third consecutive victory) thus take their tally to 43 points, leaving Bologna on 42.
