Skiing, World Cup: Dominik Paris dominates downhill in Kvitfjell

Rome, Mar 21 (LaPresse) – Dominik Paris dominated the Kvitfjell (Norway) downhill for the fifth time in his career, opening the World Cup Finals. For the 36-year-old from Val d’Ultimo, it is his first victory of the season, the 25th overall in his career, and the 20th in downhill. Seven of these wins have come at the venue of the 1994 Olympic Games. Far behind were the others, starting with Olympic champion Franjo Von Allmen in second, and Vincent Kriechmayr in third to complete the day’s podium. Fourth place went to Alexis Monney, 0.66 seconds behind Domme, with Miha Hrobat fifth at 0.86. Benjamin Alliod finished his season in eighth place, 1.12 seconds behind, with Florian Schieder tenth at 1.27, followed by Olympic silver medalist Giovanni Franzoni at 1.31. Further back were Mattia Casse and Christof Innerhofer in 20th and 21st places.
