Turin, 20 March (LaPresse) – ‘We did well to take control of the match straight away, but we misplaced a few too many passes, made too many poor decisions and could certainly have done better and controlled the match more effectively.’ This was stated by Napoli manager Antonio Conte following the win away at Cagliari. ‘In the second half we went in search of a second goal, because we know full well that when you keep these matches in the balance, anything can happen. And you risk drawing a match you’ve dominated and kicking yourself,’ explained the Napoli manager. "We knew the importance of this match, and so did the lads. We go into the break with three points and wait for the others to play. We’ve been extraordinary over these seven months, during which we’ve been through it all, to remain in the top half of the table,” he continued. “Now what we need to do is secure a Champions League spot; at the same time, I say let’s look at who’s ahead of us, because that should be an incentive, and at the same time not drop points needlessly because it takes nothing to be overtaken by those behind us,” concluded Conte.
