Miami, Mar. 17 (LaPresse) – Mattia Bellucci reaches the final round of qualifying for the "Miami Open presented by Itau," the second Masters 1000 of the season, taking place on hard courts at the Hard Rock Stadium from March 18 to 29 (prize money $9,415,725). The 24-year-old from Busto Arsizio (ATP No. 77) defeated Chilean Nicolas Jarry (ATP No. 152), a former finalist at the Italian Open, 6-3, 6-1; the two had never faced each other before. However, the derby for a spot in the main draw against Francesco Maestrelli (ATP No. 112) will not take place. The player from Pisa was surprised 7-6(1), 6-4 by American Murphy Cassone (ATP No. 256), in the draw as an alternate (first career meeting).
