Milan, Mar. 15 (LaPresse) – Emanuel Perathoner will be Italy’s flag bearer during the closing ceremony of the Milan-Cortina Paralympics. The president of the Italian Paralympic Committee, Marco Giunio De Sanctis, explained that there are three reasons for the choice: “He is the only one who has won two golds so far. He comes from snowboarding, a discipline in which we have never won anything, so it is a discipline with a great future. And above all, we are giving recognition to an athlete who could not participate in the Olympics in China, rebuilt himself, and today competes in the Paralympics, so an athlete who is both Olympic and Paralympic,” he said.
