After yesterday's success, the Team Visma Lease a Bike rider repeated his performance in the fifth stage, the 206 km from Cormoranche-sur-Saone to Colombier-le-Vieux, triumphing alone in today's uphill finish with an attack 20 km from the end. Behind him, more than two minutes behind, was Valentin Paret-Peintre (Soudal Quick-Step), 2'02‘ behind, with Colombian Harold Tejada (XDS Astana) third, beating the group of the best by 2'20’. In the overall standings, the Danish climber leads Daniel Martinez (Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe) by 3'22‘ and Georg Steinhauser (EF Education-EasyPost) by 5'50’.
